Many fraudulent parties are attempting to defraud the banking customers by seeking bank account details on the pretext of bio metric verification.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) also emphasis the general public not to share personal information on fake calls.
As a general rule...Banks or any other financial institutions never ask personal details over the phone or by email. People should be very very caution when receiving these kind of invitation just ''IGNORE'' it.
The central bank said that in many cases this is being done through fake calls by masking the official helpline or registered numbers of banks. The receivers apparently believe that the call is genuine or from the bank and share their personal information including bank account number, ID, password, CNIC number, etc. resulting in loss of funds even during the calls, it added.
Very important not to be conned on the phone into giving strangers your financial information. They can pose as bank employees or government employees.
The general public not to share personal information on fake calls.
SBP has also advised the public to immediately contact their banks on their registered numbers/helpline themselves instead of responding to the incoming calls and sharing their credentials.
People not to share personal information like CNIC or bank account number, password etc on fake calls from individuals impersonating as officials of SBP.
