Homemade 3.0L DOHC Sheet Metal Engine- Pete Aardema and Kevin Braun Motor Madness

Peter Aardema’s home-built Sheet Metal, 4 cylinder, 3.0 Liter, dual overhead cam motor isn't based on any existing engine design out there. Pete Aardema and Kevin Braun designed and fabricated this entire engine block, cylinder head, camshafts, and air induction system completely from scratch. Pete really wanted a big bore, short stroke, 4 cylinder, capable of making nearly 2.5 horsepower per cubic inch. This motor was designed to compete in the small-displacement class at Bonneville and has already proved great results by setting a few land speed records on the books. Pete has recently pulled this motor back out of storage and is now going to turbocharge the motor and with the goal of setting a couple more records in the 2022 El Mirage race season.
