A daughter whose mum was found alive at sea after being missing for two years has given a heartbreaking explanation why.  Angelica Gaitan's family had no clue where she was during the two years since they lost contact with her - until Saturday, when two hero fishermen came across a woman floating in the middle of the sea with her eyes closed and not saying a word.  Colombian Angelica was found floating two kilometres off the coast of Puerto Colombia.  Now her daughter Paula Castiblanco has explained how her mother suffers from severe panic attacks and believed she was regularly being followed by people "coming for her".  After being rescued, Angelica told medics she had fled domestic violence and had since been out of contact with her family.  She said she decided to enter the water because she "did not want to continue" with her life.  Speaking of her mental frame of mind in the years before she vanished, Paula added: "We  think during that period of time she was missing, something could have happened to her that caused her psychological trauma.  "Every time she saw a high-end car she would scream and say that they were coming for her and that we shouldn't let her get on those cars.  "She covered her head and said that a man would come for her."  Video of the moment Angelica was rescued showed fisherman Rolando and a friend - simply identified as ‘Gustavo’ by local media in Colombia - approaching the floating woman who is almost completely unresponsive.  Angelica is dragged towards the boat through a rope tied to the lifesaver which the fishermen had previously thrown towards her.  Local paper La Libertad reports they had spotted what they thought was a log in the sea - before Angelica raised her hands to signal for help.  Rolando is then seen struggling to lift the unresponsive woman into the boat.  He moves her torso just enough to help get her body over the edge and safely onto the vessel.  The fishermen then tries to have a conversation with her and give her water but the woman, who is visually upset, begins to cry and remains in this state as the incredible footage comes to an end.  It is reported that she finally uttered her first words after being rescued, saying: "I was born again, God did not want me to die."  When she was brought ashore, kind locals tended to her before she was taken to hospital.  According to reports, the woman was floating in the water for about eight hours and was taken to a hospital where she arrived in a state of shock.  Castiblanco and her sister are currently raising money to transport their mum to the capital city of Bogota where they live, and hope their mum will be “taken care of by family”, it is reported.  LaLibertad reports Angelica claims her family abandoned her after she suffered domestic violence.  This was in 2018, when she reportedly moved to Ecuador to stay with her brother.  The Samaritans is available 24/7 if you need to talk.
