How to fix the fuel door of a 2019 GMC Terrain!

I had to replace the fuel door (and the entire house, with this specific model!) when I noticed that the fuel door wouldn’t latch closed anymore. In my 2019 GMC Terrain, there is no fuel cap! This means that while we were experiencing the leftover remnants of the hurricane weather up here in Chicago, the door was open and the risk of debris getting into my gas tank system was too high for me to rest comfortably on getting this taken care of.

To pick up the proper part, I took myself over to Mike Anderson Chevrolet on Irving Park road here in Chicago and made sure that it was the proper certified part. I know that in some cases, there is a little spring in the housing compartment that you can just remove and replace but now you have to go big or go home! Took a day or two for shipping from Milwaukee and then I promptly got the call to come pick it up!

This fix took me UNDER THREE MINUTES and only cost me $35. Now, I don’t have to worry about anything getting into my tank! Yay!
