Before the sun-soaked Greek romance of Summer Lovers hit theaters in 1982, director Randal Kleiser (Grease, The Blue Lagoon) had an even steamier vision. His original script didn’t just feature Peter Gallagher’s Michael romancing Daryl Hannah’s Cathy and Valérie Quennessen’s Lina—it pushed the ménage-à-trois into forbidden territory. Studio bosses demanded he strip away all intimacy between the two women, but Hannah and Quennessen secretly kept the spark alive on camera.
