Jerusalem Shooting: At least five people were killed and 15 others injured in a deadly shooting attack on the outskirts of East Jerusalem during morning rush hour. The shooting occurred at Ramot Junction on Yigal Yadin Street, where attackers reportedly boarded a bus and opened fire on passengers. Israeli police said the gunmen, described as “terrorists,” were neutralised on the spot. Emergency teams confirmed the deaths of a man aged about 50 and three men in their 30s, while five others remain in critical condition. According to The Times of Israel, the assailants used a makeshift “Carlo” submachine gun, a weapon frequently deployed in past Palestinian attacks. Video footage showed chaos at the scene, with shattered glass, unconscious victims, and dozens of commuters fleeing. The attack comes hours after Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz issued a final warning to Hamas—to lay down arms and release hostages or face “annihilation.” Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue their offensive around Gaza City, intensifying bombardments in their bid to defeat Hamas after nearly two years of war.
