A linear fashion system is not sustainable. Items are sold, worn, and – in the worst-case – put into landfills after the owner discards them. The fashion industry needs to make better use of the planet’s scarce resources and apply the principles of circularity to fashion. In the talk, Zalando’s Product Designers, Maria and Hannele will tell you about Zalando’s goal of creating a net positive impact both for people and the planet with Zalando Zircle.

Bio:
I am a product designer with a background in user experience and user research. At Zalando, our team is working to create and expand Zalando’s second hand offering. Being passionate about design and second hand, working with the Recommerce team at Zalando has been a perfect fit for me. Before joining Zalando, I worked as a consultant for many years and with the Finnish telecom giant Nokia.

Maria is a multidisciplinary design leader, who builds design teams creating award-winning experiences and services. At Zalando Helsinki, Maria leads the local Design Community and practice, working with teams on Zalando Fashion Store, Recommerce and Connected Retail. Maria highly enjoys mentoring others as well as continuously learning and staying curious herself.
