Abidjan is the Economic Capital and the Largest City in the Ivory Coast Located on the Southern Coast of the Country. Abidjan is a Bustling and Vibrant Metropolis and is a melting pot of culture, traditions, and opportunities.
The City of Abidjan is Blessed with Natural Beauty, a Rich history, and a thriving economy and for this reason, the city has been Nicknamed the Paris of Africa.
The city is also called the city of Islands as the city is located around the Ebrie Lagoon surrounded by islands and peninsulas. The Lagoon waterways give the city a unique charm with boats frequently serving as mode of transport
Abidjan Served as the Capital City of Ivory Coast after its Independence in 1960 until 1983 when the Capital was moved to Yamoussoukro.
However, because of its large population, the City remained the Economic hub of Ivory Coast as it plays a crucial role in the Country’s commerce and Financial Industry.
With a population of about 6.5 million people, Abidjan is the 6th most populous city in Africa after Lagos, Cairo, Kinshasa, Dar es Salaam and Johannesburg.
