I'm going to tell you the real story behind this song and why It took me so long to do the video.

I wrote this song when I had low self esteem and didn't know what true love was. I was on the bus to see my friend Chava when I actually wrote this. After being jumped by an Ex and his kids.
He had been drinking all day and as soon as he passed out I went to do the grocery shopping and spent all that we had left on food. When I got back he was awake and asked me where the money was and I said we needed food and he got upset and started calling me names. We were in the room and his 3 kids were in the living room. He started flicking his finger on my fore head and pushing his finger against my head and pushing me back and so I left the room and walked towards the front door to leave and he blocked me and he was still calling me names and saying a bunch of things and I pushed him back so I can open the door to leave and one of his sons was about 8 at that time called me the B word for pushing him and thats when they jumped me and he sat on me while the kids hit me and yanked my earrings out. After I got up and left and they called the cops saying I started it. I called his dad because his dad knew how he was and always told me to call him anytime so I did. I stayed that night and left the next day and he had the nerve to call me and asked If I was going to watch his kids because he needed to work. I was so dumb to feel like it was my fault. He blamed me and I believed it. I spent the weekend at my friends house and went back to him and I even went to court and plead guilty to domestic violence. I didn't want to do this video because I knew there was more to it and in this song I'm hurt like it was my fault. I'm so different now. I wrote and recorded in 2004. My friend Krieggy said to do this song because people can relate to this and I said ok and my bff also suggested I do this video so she filmed me. I just want to say please If your in an abusive relationship and he's into drugs and alcohol really bad. Please walk away because they choose to drink and do drugs and you can't help a person If they can't or won't help themselves. He kept blaming me for his drinking and he was already drinking before I meant him.
After 4 years I finally just left and never looked back. I'm now married to someone else and been with him for 12 years and yes you can find someone who loves you for you and treats you how you are supposed to be treated. Love yourself ❤
