✅ How to change the coolant in the KTM 390 Duke?!

00:00 introduction
► Condition:
00:08 The engine must cold!

► Preparatory work:
00:13 Remove the front spoiler.

► Main work:
00:47 Stand the motorcycle upright.
00:51 Place a suitable container under the engine.
00:58 Remove the drain screw.
01:38 Remove the radiator cap.
01:47 Completely drain the coolant.
01:58 Flush the cooling system. (Prefer to use distilled water if you can!)
02:43 Mount screw with a new seal ring and tighten it. (8 Nm!)

► Filling/bleeding the cooling system:
- Remove radiator cap
02:59 Open bleeder screw by three turns.
03:13 Tilt the vehicle slightly to the right.
03:27 Use only suitable coolant. (1.1 l, based on ethylene glycol)
03:34 Pour in coolant until it emerges without bubbles at the bleeder screw,
03:45 and then mount and tighten the bleeder screw immediately.
03:58 Fill the radiator completely with coolant.
04:03 Mount the radiator cap.
04:20 Rest the vehicle on the side stand.
04:29 Start the engine and let it run warm.
04:38 Stop the engine and allow it to cool down.
- When the engine is cool, check the coolant level in the radiator and, if necessary, add coolant.
04:43 Remove the cap of the compensating tank and add coolant until the coolant level is up to the MAX mark.
04:54 Mount the cap of the compensating tank.
05:07 Fit the front spoiler.

🔴 Use only suitable coolant (even in countries with high temperatures). Using inferior antifreeze can result in corrosion and foaming.
► Use only coolant based on ethylene glycol.
► Antifreeze: -25... -45 °C (-13... -49 °F)
► The coolant level must be between MIN and MAX.

► necessary tools / szükséges szerszámok:
- wrench 8mm, 10mm / villáskulcs 8mm, 10mm
- container / gyűjtőedény
──────────────────────────────────────────
► vehicle / jármű: KTM 390 Duke '14
► part / alkatrész:
- coolant / hűtőfolyadék: ethylene glycol based antifreeze coolant -35°C (1,1l)

🔴 Warning! Danger of scalding:
During motorcycle operation, the coolant gets very hot and is under pressure.
- Do not remove the radiator cap, radiator hoses or other cooling system components when the engine is hot.
Allow the engine and cooling system to cool down.
In case of scalding, rinse immediately with lukewarm water.

🔴 Warning! Danger of poisoning:
Coolant is poisonous and a health hazard.
- Coolant must not come into contact with the skin, eyes, or clothing. If contact occurs with the eyes, rinse with water immediately and contact a physician.
Immediately clean contaminated areas on the skin with soap and water. If coolant is swallowed, contact a physician immediately.
Change clothing that is contaminated with coolant. Keep coolant out of reach of children.
