Unboxing two Ferranti 6G6G audio output pentode vacuum tubes. The description below is for both valves.
The valve is probably new & in its original box. (NOS New Old Stock, NIB New In Box)
The valve base is a black international octal IO A08 K8A. The valve has no top connection cap. The clear glass envelope has ND, Ferranti & 6G6G printed on it in white. 6G6 G is printed inside a grey 'stop sign'. The 8 pin base (1 pin is missing) has LICENSED ONLY TO THE EXTENT INDICATED ON CARTON on the bottom. Printed on the box is FERRANTI VALVE, the Ferranti F logo, FERRANTI B.V. A. VALVE & the BVA BRITISH RADIO VALVE MANUFACTURERS' ASSOCIATION logo. One end of the box has a white label with 6G6G, 17/6 P. T. extra. The inside flap reads SEE WRAPPER WITHIN FOR IMPORTANT NOTICE. Printed on the inside wrapping paper is the BVA logo, guarantee information & "FERRANTI LTD., MOSTON, MANCESTER 10".
The type 6F8G was first introduced in 1937 & was used in radio receivers. It has a heater filament voltage requirement of 6.3 volts.
