Reforming Education in Pakistan

What are we NOT teaching the children. This is the quick summary of my talk at the Sindh Literature Festival.

1. Pakistan is a multinational state
2. Equality of humanity and respect and tolerance for other cultures, religions, nations, castes, gender.
3. Logical, Scientific, and critical thinking.
4. Art and art appreciation
5. Love of books and learning.
6. Academic integrity - cheating hurts the student’s habits of excellence.
7. Love of craft and working with your hands.
8. Application of academic learning to practical life.
9. Intelligent mistakes are better than good guesses.
10. Learning is a lifelong process. It doesn’t end with school.
