Hendy Woods and Elk - July 2024

Our favorite spot to camp near the Northern California coast.

Hendy Woods is a lovely campsite located in the Anderson Valley. The campsite features two impressive redwood groves and the nearby Navarro River. This is a wine growing region so there are lots of places to go wine tasting. The Anderson Valley Brewing Company is a short drive away and they have a lovely tap room.

The coastal town of Elk is just a thirty minute drive away. You can stroll on the Greenwood State Beach, check out the local art gallery, and have lunch at the Elk House. The nearby Elk Cove Inn is our favorite B&B. If Mendocino is more to your liking, that's a short drive up the coast as well.
