Amazing Backpacking Near Las Vegas! | Charleston Peak South Trail - Overnighter On Top of a Cliff!

I won a trip to Las Vegas from work at the end of June 2023 and of course I had to get into the mountains… I was going to do the entire south trail to Charleston Peak, but flight/shuttle delays just didn’t allow me the time I wanted, so I just did a quick overnighter along the trail. It did not disappoint!

I had no idea wilderness like this existed so close to Vegas and after doing this short overnighter, I am kicking myself for all of the times I just drove right through this area without stopping. Lol Just incredible scenery!

I had a pretty interesting night when I punctured my sleeping pad and then spilled a water bottle in my tent in the middle of the night… haha, but overall, the trip was amazing! As usual, I did not want to leave!

Definitely plan on coming back to complete the entire trail to Charleston Peak, which is apparently the 8th most prominent peak in the lower 48 states!
