For Episode 7 of The Solar Cabin Sessions with Pat Kearns, our guest is Gabriel Hart. Gabriel is a exemplary specimen of a certain breed that is commonly found out here in the Mojave Desert; the urbanite in exile.

Gabriel departed the underbelly of Los Angeles a few years back, trading it in for a homestead in the high desert. Once he shed his punk rock, asphalt beginnings for the sands of the Mojave Desert, a transformation took place. In Gabriel Hart's case, it wasn't a major transformation. This wasn't new growth as much as it was the realization of potential that was lying just under the surface all along like the black caterpillars that became sphinx moths after our wet Mojave winter this last year. It was almost expected.

This past year, Gabriel released his debut novel - actually a double novel titled Virgins in Reverse/The Intrusion on Traveling Shoes Press. His band, Jail Weddings, completed their long awaited third album. And they have been recently playing shows supporting both Tav Falco and Kid Congo Powers. This artist is in full blossom.

Gabriel performs a new solo song called Another Teary Eyed All Nighter which is part of a collection of recordings we are working on for a future solo record at The Solar Powered Cabin. Jail Weddings new album, titled Wilted Eden, will be out September 20th.
