Creating a homebrewed beer can seem daunting at first but once you learn and follow the procedure the results can be phenomenal.

Chris and I have recently started collaborating with creating a homebrewed chili beer. This video shows the process on how we homebrewed the recipe and also the first tasting of the first batch. I never realised how much fun brewing beer could be and that it can be done in quite a sustainable way.

Chris re-uses or re-purposes most of the ingredients he uses in each batch. Nothing goes to waste and every think has a purpose. This kind of brewing lines up exactly with my mission of becoming self-sufficient and living a more sustainable life. The grain and hops are re-purposed as chicken food and all the water is either used to water his garden and grass or is fed back into a rain water container to be reused at a later date.

I this is only the beginning of our sustainable Beer brewing adventures and I'm sure that as we refine the process more and more we will discover new ways of being more sustainable and helping the environment.
