Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry arrested in Islamabad

Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was arrested on May 10. He was arrested by the Islamabad police and transferred to an unknown location. As per The Express Tribune, Qureshi was taken into custody from the Gilgit-Baltistan House in Islamabad. Qureshi is wanted by the police in cases of riots and arsons in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Before his arrest, Qureshi called upon PTI workers to keep up their struggle for true freedom in the country. He also asked PTI workers to keep up their struggle for real freedom until Imran Khan is freed. Meanwhile, PTI senior leader Fawad Chaudhry was arrested outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad on May 10. Fawad Chaudhry was present inside the Pakistan Supreme Court since 11 am in a bid to evade arrest. He was arrested under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Ordinance and shifted to the Secretariat Police Station. PTI Chief Imran Khan was arrested outside Islamabad High Court by Rangers in the Al-Qadir Trust case. At least five persons have died in violence that has aggravated instability in Pakistan. Authorities in three of Pakistan's four provinces imposed an emergency order banning all gatherings.
