When I got to the doctors office on May 9th. I was ready to have my procedure. I was given a room and assigned a nurse. She told me I was having a total hysterectomy, I told her that’s not what I spoke to my doctor about that I was keeping my ovaries ! A partial hysterectomy, so I refused to sign anything but she insisted on administering drugs and preparing me for surgery. 8:30 am was my arrival time, at noon , Dr Jackson shows up after all these hours, saying there was a blackout. Dr Jackson only told me about the surgery and what’s it’s defined in the medical field. He said a total hysterectomy is keeping the ovaries. He explained that and that was it. He left. Before he came in, I met Jonathan with the Anesthesia team, I told him I was refusing blood transfusion because of the side effects, it looked scary. He didn’t explain anything neither did the nurse, or doctor jackson. He just made me sign it, and I wonder how doctor jackson did not see the signature when he signed the paperwork after talking to me. They put to sleep and got me to the ward ready for surgery. One hour later or more they wake me up, telling me the surgery didn’t go on because I refused Blood Transfusion. They didn’t call my husband to let him know, they just told him I have been discharged. They didn’t give me time to recover. They just suddenly discharged me after putting all those drugs in me. I felt terrible, horrible, my plans, babysitting, my job, my life. I hated myself and my stomach and body was ready for a surgery and nothing happened. I didn’t even know they had fetanyl in my body after I told the nurse no narcotics in my system. I went home a damaged person. The whole night I couldn’t sleep, sending doctor jackson messages. No response, Friday came.. Called the hospital several times. No one checked up to find out if I was okay. Saturday went, Sunday I was in total severe pain. Rushed to emergency, couldn’t wait. Severe pain and headache. Monday I called, no answer. No one called to even ask how I was doing? Then it was Tuesday I went to Advent on Skyland before they attended to me , after an emotional breakdown. They called a meeting with Amanda, Mellisa Hamilton, dr Jackson and some medical professionals talking to me and apologizing for their error for what happened. I feel I was mistreated and maltreated because I am a black minority. No one would administer drugs into families without a surgery, send them home and not check up on them. This was the worst feeling of being human! Injustice, ill treatment and nothing can make me feel justified of their actions. Putting me in and out of the world.. Was something nothing to them.
