The Roomba 960 is a "lite" version of the 980 with a smaller motor and battery. So it isn't as powerful. You can see the difference in the lower scores across the board. It isn't as good with deep cleaning or picking up surface debris. But still decent on both surfaces.

The smaller battery means it will not run as long, only 75 minutes. It shouldn't be an issue since this model has recharge and resume, so it resumes cleaning if it doesn't finish the cycle previously.
