Fall is kind of a dreary season in the garden, especially after pulling up all the colorful flowers, but I enjoy a bit of cooler weather and garden cleanup seems like a fresh new start.

I moved celery plants that were still producing to the lettuce bed. They were being overtaken by the lima beans I sowed earlier, and I needed to make space for a new bed. My first time growing celery, and I hope it transplants ok. I added sand and compost to the bed. There is still a lot of clay in the soil. Next, I marked the rows and sowed lettuces, spinach, and arugula. I’ll see how it all grows.
