In an ancient Greek kingdom, Psyche, the most beautiful princess, unknowingly angers Aphrodite by receiving praise meant for the goddess. Aphrodite sends her son, Eros, to punish Psyche, but he accidentally falls in love with her. They secretly marry, though Psyche never sees him clearly. Deceived by jealous sisters, Psyche betrays Eros’s trust by trying to uncover his identity. Feeling betrayed, Eros leaves, breaking Psyche’s heart and beginning her quest to reclaim lost love.
