On Friday the 8th of April, I gave a 12-minute speech in Ancient Greek at the Delphi Economic Forum entitled ‘Learning from a Living Voice | παρὰ ζώσης φωνῆς μανθάνειν’ about how the ancients learned Greek and Latin and what lessons we can draw from that for interacting in modern society.

This was part of a meet-up entitled ‘Classics in Praxis: Social Values from Classical Texts’ powered by LanguageCert (https://www.languagecert.org/en/about..., a member of the PeopleCert Group, and hosted by VII Delphi Economic Forum (https://delphiforum.gr/).

A number of Greek and Latin scholars from around the world came to Delphi, the mythical centre of the world, to give speeches entirely in Ancient Greek and Latin about how values from classical texts and literature are relevant for modern society and politics.
