1980 Honda CB750 DOHC Electrical System Explained

Описание к видео 1980 Honda CB750 DOHC Electrical System Explained

In this video I explain the oft-feared electrical system. A lot of the information in this video applies to general electrical troubleshooting on motorcycles and cars, and all of it will apply to all DOHC CB750s produced between 1979-1983.

To skip ahead:
Intro 0:00
DC Voltage + Grounding 1:14
Charging System + Batt chat 6:45
Starting System 16:36
Ignition System 29:24
Turn Signals + Outro 32:38

There is much that I'm sure I left out, and different DIYers will litigate the methodology differently; what I know for certain is that this methodology has worked for me up until this point. For example, some of the components, like turn signals, don't have a ground wire; they ground through the actual bolt that holds them to the frame. I also left a little easter egg in the starting circuit in the form of the neutral switch. Check your wiring diagram to see if you can figure it out and post it in the comments below. Remember, the proof of your work is in the ride! Always gather information from multiple sources before attempting your own maintenance.
