2024 Polestar 4 Review: A mix of coupe, saloon and SUV. Is it a car that makes sense?

Описание к видео 2024 Polestar 4 Review: A mix of coupe, saloon and SUV. Is it a car that makes sense?

In this review of the new "sporty SUV" Polestar 4, we take a closer look at this new all-electric SUV coupe. While it's a car that certainly stands out from the competition, we wonder if it's a package that actually makes sense?

The Polestar 4 is confusingly positioned, occupying a spot between the smaller Polestar 2 saloon and the larger Polestar 3 SUV - its stylish profile may trade some headroom and boot space compared to the Polestar 3, but it makes up for it with a sportier look and feel.

The Polestar 4 blends futuristic design with practical SUV features. Its sleek coupe-like styling sets it apart from conventional electric SUVs, delivering a dynamic and modern aesthetic that’s sure to turn heads. It also, rather interestingly, doesn't have a rear window. However, it’s not just about looks - the Polestar 4 has impressive electric performance, making it a true competitor to models like the Genesis GV60, Tesla Model Y and the Audi Q4 e-tron.

The Polestar 4 is available with dual-motor all-wheel-drive options, delivering powerful acceleration and smooth handling. With a range of up to 350 miles on a single charge, it offers practicality for long-distance driving, while the fast-charging capability ensures you can quickly top up on the go.

Inside, the Polestar 4 offers a minimalist and premium cabin with high-quality materials and a clean, tech-focused design. The latest Android-based infotainment system sits within a huge screen, while a panoramic roof and spacious cabin add to the sense of luxury and comfort. Advanced driver-assistance features and over-the-air updates mean the Polestar 4 is equipped with the latest technology, as you'd expect with a new EV.

Despite its sporty coupe design, the Polestar 4 still offers space for passengers and luggage, making it a practical choice for families or those with active lifestyles. The lack of a rear windscreen helps to create more room for rear passengers. The Polestar 4 handles well and does feel sporty, but we'd say that overall it falls more on the side of comfortable. It can be a little loud on the motorway, though.
