China plans to devaluate the yuan in 2025, sources told Reuters, to try and counteract some of the effect of Donald Trump's promised 60% tariffs. Janet Mui of RBC Brewin Dolphin says it would be very difficult to offset duties on that scale with currency depreciation - and it could lead to competitive devaluations throughout Asia.
