This was such an incredible place to visit in the Arizona desert. We learned so much from the National Park Ranger, Brian, who was present on the monument. He explained the life, climate, structures, and land in the area. We learned that Western Apaches inhabited the area and built the stone masonry structure around 1125 CE. The area is named Tuzigoot ("crooked waters"). We were amazed at how much was excavated and learned about this tribe. They were only able to excavate about 25% of the total structures, as the rest was destroyed. It feels like a sacred place and you can understand why they loved and lived in this place. We also did the Marsh Overlook Trail and learned more about the area from the reader boards along the trail. This is a great monument to see! Two thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻
