As a control plane function in the 5G core network, the main functions and responsibilities of NRF are:

● Access token management
ㆍManages access token issuance information.
ㆍProvides HTTPS-based JWK.
● Hierarchical NRF configuration
ㆍProvides intermediate redirection and forwarding.

● HTTP2 interconnection
ㆍManages IP white list registration.
ㆍManages FQDN registration of NFs using multiple IPs.
ㆍNF interconnection TLS setting
ㆍOverload control

● Roaming
ㆍManages multiple HPLMN information.
ㆍConnects roaming NRF through SEPP connection.
