Severn Valley Railway - Winter Steam Gala 2024 - 06/01/2024

6th - 7th January 2024 saw the Severn Valley Railway host their Winter Steam Gala, featuring no less than six locomotive in steam over the course of the weekend.
The event bid a fond farewell to two stalwarts of the Severn Valley homefleet take their final bows before being withdrawn from traffic before their boiler tickets expired; rebuilt SR West Country Class 4-6-2, No.21C127 'Taw Valley' and sole surviving LMS Ivatt 4MT Class 2-6-0, No.43106 - hauling its final trains after 14 years sterling of service!
On a brighter note, the weekend also saw the first gala appearance of Stanier 5MT Class 'Mogul' 2-6-0, No.2968, which recently returned to traffic after an extensive overhaul - sporting temporary LMS unlined black livery.
Filmed on overcast 6th January, we see an intensive timetable of services between Kiddermister and Bridgnorth from various vantage points along the route - localized flooding of the Severn restricting some planned locations.
