In this video, we’re quickly showing how ASTM D3574 works — the standard test methods for flexible cellular urethane foams. These methods include tensile strength, tear resistance, compression set, indentation force deflection (IFD), and fatigue testing.

One of the most common procedures in ASTM D3574 is the compression and IFD test, which uses square platen fixtures (instead of regular circular compression platens) to compress foam samples and measure how they respond under load. This helps evaluate comfort, durability, and long-term performance. We have both square and circular compression platens in stock!
