Samsung Q990c Soundbar Firmware Update Part 3

Updating any electronic's firmware can be unnerving since one false move may brick the electronic equipment. Unfortunately the Samsung references to updating soundbars are either out-dated (not pertaining to your model) or incomplete in the steps needed.

This video is done on one take in real time. This is my first attempt in updating and it came out fine. Worrisome was the 4 display freezing and the 3 reboots. Initially when the display froze, it looks as if something went wrong, but this turned out to be part of the process. If it takes longer than 7 minutes and you have not seen "latest version" display, something went wrong. I would stop the update, reformat the jump drive or better yet use a different jump drive, repeat the download process and start the update again. Probably had a corrupt file downloading from Samsung.

Total time took 4minutes 17 seconds. Everyone time may vary as around 6 minutes have been mentioned. It depends on internet connection speeds, traffic at the Samsung download website, type of flash drive, etc.
