With time running out and Galactus heading straight for Earth, the team comes up with a final, risky plan: use baby Franklin Richards—who is just beginning to show signs of the Power Cosmic—as bait to lure Galactus into a functioning teleportation portal.

They try to deceive Galactus, but he sees through their plan. Instead of falling into the trap, he heads directly to the Baxter Building to capture Franklin himself. But just as Galactus reaches for the child, Sue Storm uses the last of her strength to force Galactus into the portal. The act is so powerful and draining that she collapses—and appears to die from the immense cosmic strain.

Even then, Galactus tries to come back. Johnny Storm prepares to sacrifice himself to stop him once and for all—but at the last moment, the Silver Surfer (Shalla Bal) steps in and takes Johnny’s place. She teleports both herself and Galactus to the edge of the universe, saving Earth but leaving her own fate uncertain.

Back on Earth, as Sue lies lifeless, Reed gently places Franklin on her chest. Tapping into the Power Cosmic, Franklin revives his mother. The team is reunited, Earth is saved, and the film ends on a hopeful note—with the Fantastic Four celebrating, true to their classic spirit.
