Testing out a 30 Peso contact alarm system from CD-R King.

Although it's called a contact alarm system, I'd consider it more of an alert system since it's pretty easy to disable after the sirens begins.

It should be enough to wake you up and alert neighbors, perhaps even scare off an intruder. But someone determined enough could easily turn off the alarm after the siren has started. So it's best to use these to supplement a real alarm system or for use when traveling where it's not practical to install a professional alarm system.

For a permanent install on windows or doors that should never be opened, you could use super glue to keep the switch in the 'ON' position and to glue the battery cover in place. This modification would make it much more difficult for the alarm to be disabled.

The alarm system uses 3x1.5V LR-44 batteries. They should last a long time since it consumes no power until the reed switch (magnetic switch) is closed.

Mounting is simple since both alarm pieces include double sided tape. Alternatively you can screw them in place for a more secure installation. The model number is YL-323

At just 30 peso from cdrking, they're a pretty good deal. Especially since similar door/window alarm products from local hardware stores in metro manila could cost you a 100-300 peso.
