Jagat Seth, India's Richest Man of the 18th century

This is a fascinating story from the modern history of India in which I talk about how Jagat Seth became the richest man of India in the 18th century, why he helped Robert Clive and the British East India Company win the Battle of Plassey in 1757 and what fate had in store for him. In the context of the story I discuss how events such as the Black Hole of Calcutta, Siraj-ud-Daulah's reign and the Seven Years' War in Europe were intertwined with the events occurring in Bengal.
