About Topkapi Palace:

The Topkapı Palace is a palace in Istanbul (Constantinople), Turkey.

"Topkapı Sarayı" in Turkish means the "Cannongate Palace".

It was built in 1465. The palace was the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire and residence of the Ottoman Sultan. It was turned into a museum at the request of Turkey's first President, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1924.

The palace was built on the acropolis, the site of the first settlement in Istanbul. It has a very good view of the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus and the Sea of Marmara. 5 km of walls surround the palace complex and has an area of 700,000 sq. m at the tip of the historical peninsula.

Approximately, the Sultans resided in the palace for around four centuries, from 1465 up until 1856, of their 624-year reign of the Ottoman Empire.

Despite the game calling it "Topkapı Palace", in 1511 it would have still been called "New Palace" (or "Yeni Sarayı" in Turkish).

About the game:

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is a 2011 action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the fourth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, and a direct sequel to 2010's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The game was released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows in November and December 2011.

The plot is set in a fictional history of real-world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control.

The framing story is set in the 21st century and features the series protagonist Desmond Miles who, with the aid of a machine known as the Animus, relives the memories of his Assassin ancestors to find a way to avert the 2012 apocalypse.

The main story follows Ezio Auditore da Firenze (the protagonist of Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood) in 16th century Constantinople as he attempts to unlock the secret vault of Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad (the protagonist of the first game) using disc-like artifacts containing the latter's memories. Altaïr is also playable in flashback sequences set in 12th and 13th century Masyaf set both before and after the events of the first game.
