61306 Mayflower breaks the Sound Barrier: English Riviera Express - 2024

A short trip to the English Riviera for the day. This is the seventh time I’ve visited the area this year & the fourth time 61306 Mayflower hauls the English Riviera Express to Kingswear. The English Riviera Express left Wolverhampton early, and ran diesel hauled to Taunton, where the Mayflower took over to Kingswear, running on time. Upon arrival into Kingswear, it shunts the consist into the sidings, and heads to Churston for turning and a service. Resident DSR 2-8-0 5237 Goliath was on service train duties, and the paddle steamer, Kingswear Castle, was also spotted.

Since this time last year, I’ve been doing video and audio separately and marrying the two together in the edit. However, today I decided to do it all in one, which didn’t go well. It wasn’t until I got to Noss that I was able to review captures; the gain was set far too high! The levels were reduced for the remainder of the film. Nonetheless, shots were taken at:
