We need to save the green spaces and their natives around us and here’s why - I spend my days holding space for other people’s nervous systems. Listening closely. Regulating, grounding, repairing. And somewhere along the way I learned that if I don’t tend to my own, I have nothing real to offer.
This video has no trending audio on purpose. I wanted you to hear what actually regulates me. The wind through trees. Bare feet on earth. Drums, voices, rhythms that feel older than language.
As a mental health practitioner, self care is not a luxury. It is maintenance. And nature has always been a big part of that for me. So when I saw the Aarey Music Festival announced by @seedsofbanyan, something in me paused. @mrearth_ ‘s video about it brought it to my attention, for which I’m grateful. They spoke about tribal practices, cultural dances, and being in relationship with the land. The performances I witnessed enriched the experience by tenfold.
Being there felt like my body exhaled before my mind could explain why. The music was not trying to go viral. It was trying to be felt. The forest did not demand attention, it offered presence.
Sometimes healing doesn’t sound like a trend. Sometimes it sounds like this.
