চাঁদ পৃথিবীর একমাত্র প্রাকৃতিক উপগ্রহ এবং সৌর জগতের পঞ্চম বৃহত্তম উপগ্রহ। পৃথিবীর কেন্দ্র থেকে চাঁদের কেন্দ্রের গড় দূরত্ব হচ্ছে ৩৮৪,৩৯৯ কিলোমিটার।
সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়নের লুনা ১ লুনা ২ ও ৩ প্রথবারের মত চাঁদের পৃষ্ঠতলকে প্রভাবান্বিত করেছিল ১৯৫৯ সালে। ১৯৬৬ সালে লুনা ৯ প্রথমবারের মত চন্দ্রপৃষ্ঠে অবতরণ করে এবং লুনা ১০ প্রথমবারের মতো চাঁদের কক্ষপথ পরিক্রমণ করতে সমর্থ হয়। যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ১৯৬৯ সালে, অ্যাপোলো-১১ অভিযানে নিল আর্মস্ট্রং এবং বাজ অলড্রিন ছিলেন প্রথম মানুষ যাঁরা চাঁদে হেঁটেছেন ।
জোছনা রাতের আকাশে চাঁদ ও মেঘের লুকোচুরি খেলা দেখতে কারইবা না ভালো লাগে? মেঘ ও চাঁদের ছুটোছুটি দেখতে দেখতে ক্লান্ত নয়নে খোকা-খুকি ঘুমায় মায়ের কোলে। নানী-দাদী কিংবা মা-খালাদের কাছে আয় আয় চাঁদ মামা টিপ দিয়ে যা। এ ছড়া শুনতে শুনতে ঘুমানি এমন শিশু খুবই কম আছে। তবে বর্তমান ব্যাস্ত নগর জীবনে বড় বড় দালান কোঠা ও রঙিন লাইটের চোখধাঁধানো আলোয় চাঁদনি রাতের জোছনা বিলাস হারাতে বসেছে।
মেঘমুক্ত আকাশে নদীর বুকে প্রিয়সীকে নিয়ে জোছনা দেখার মজাই আলাদা। মনের আনন্দে নিজেরই অজান্তেই বেরিয়ে আসে কতনা মধুর গান। যেমন আইয়ুব বাচ্চুর কন্ঠের গান...
নদীর বুকে চাঁদ পড়েছে চাঁদ পড়েছে বন্ধু বন্ধুর গায়।
ঢেউয়ে ঢেউয়ে নাচ উঠেছে, বন্ধু চড়েছে আমার নায়।
চাঁদের সমস্ত আনন্দ আয়োজন মিলান হয়েযায়, যখন পেটে খুধা থাকে। অনাহারে অধ্যাহারে দিন কাটে।
তখন ক্ষুধার্ত মানুষের নিকট পূর্ণিমা রাতের বিশাল রুপার থালারমতো চাঁদ টাকে ঝলসানো রুটি মনে হয়। তাইতো কবি সুকান্ত ভট্টাচার্য লিখেছেন ক্ষুধার জ্বালার বিক্ষত উক্তি।
ক্ষুধার রাজ্যে পৃথিবী গদ্যময়
পূর্ণিমার চাঁদ যেন ঝলসানো রুটি।

পরিশেষে বলবো..চাঁদের জোছনায় ধৌত হয় মুমিনের হৃদয়। হৃদয় মিনারে সুর বাজে প্রভুবন্দনার। মুমিনের আঁখিযুগল যতবার এই চাঁদের দিকে তাকায়, ততবারই মনে পড়ে প্রিয় নবীর সেই অমিয় বাণী। যে বাণীতে স্বপ্ন আছে প্রভু দর্শনের। জাবের ইবনে আবদুল্লাহ (রা.) থেকে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, এক রাতে আমরা রাসুল (সা.)-এর কাছে ছিলাম। হঠাৎ তিনি পূর্ণিমা রাতের চাঁদের দিকে তাকিয়ে বললেন, ‘শোনো! নিশ্চয় তোমরা তোমাদের প্রতিপালককে তেমনি স্পষ্ট দেখতে পাবে, যেমন স্পষ্ট এই চাঁদকে দেখতে পাচ্ছো। তাকে দেখতে তোমরা কোনো ভিড়ের সম্মুখীন হবে না।’ (বুখারি শরিফ, হাদিস : ৫৫৪)
আশুন জোছনা ধারায় ধৌত করি আমাদের পৃথিবীর সমস্ত জরাজীর্ণ ও গ্লাণি। পৃথিবীকে করে তুলি সকালে জন্য নিরাপদ, বাসযোগ্য ও শান্তিময়। মানবীয় মহৎ গুণে জোছনার আলোয় আলোকিত হোক পৃথিবীর প্রতিটি হৃদয়।।

Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): He said: One night we were with the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). Suddenly he looked at the full moon night and said, ‘Listen! Surely you will see your Lord as clearly as you see the moon. You will not face any crowd to see him. '(Bukhari Sharif, Hadith: 554). Let's wash away all the dilapidated and filthy things in our world. Make the world safer, livable and peaceful for the morning. May every heart of the world be illuminated by the light of Jochna due to its great human qualities.
