2024 09 06 #3 1 Cardano Developer Advocate Onboarding Students

This is the first video about voluntary open-source developer students. The purpose of this activity is to introduce them to Cardano Open Source GitHub activities (based on Plutus/Haskell), familiarize them with Haskell, and assist them with Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to help them advance their future careers as developers, particularly in web3 and Cardano blockchain development. This video session focuses on induction, exciting group competitions, and exploratory activities.

What is Work Integrated Learning (WIL)? It is a college module where industry companies expose, mentor, and assist IT software development students with industry experience and development opportunities. Since 2022, this program has been helping students gain work skills and employment. Other developers are welcome to take part as mentors, mentees and even as learing students.

Currently, over 105 students signed up and over 30 are already on discord. There is R10500 rands for group competitions where in each group top 4 voted will receive R500, R400, R300 and R300. This present an opportunity to improve on our onboardment processes across the world.
