👨🏼‍🏫 In this video lesson, you’ll learn the perfective verb “говорить” and all of its conjugations through real Russian sentences voiced by native speakers, both male and female.

📝 Notes:
1. Imperfective verbs form 3 tenses: Present, Past, and Compound Future.
2. Perfective verbs form 2 tenses: Past and Simple Future.
3. Imperfective verbs express ongoing, incomplete, or repeated actions, while perfective verbs convey a completed result. Many aspectual verb pairs share meaning but differ in aspect.
4. Only singular verbs in the past tense and conditional mood have gender.
5. If person or gender does not affect a verb’s conjugation, those categories are shown in gray.
6. Not all verbs have imperative forms or some conjugations, so they may be omitted in the video.
7. The slides 8/34 and 26/34 use only a male voice, while 11/34 and 29/34 use only a female voice, as they are in the 1st person.
8. I omitted neuter-gender conjugation for some verbs, as it may be uncommon or unused. Neuter nouns in Russian include “со́лнце” (sun), “мо́ре” (sea), , etc. The neuter past/conditional form of “говори́ть” is “говори́ло”.
9. Correspondence to English tenses may be inaccurate because tense choice depends on context, style, and whether the action is continuous or completed. For example, the Compound Future can express a completed future action, not only an ongoing one.
10. The particle “бы” in conditional verbs can appear before or after the verb. Both positions are correct, with minor stylistic differences.
11. Conditional-mood sentences may lack the stated condition but remain grammatically correct. I omitted the conditions for brevity and focused on verb conjugation. For example, the sentence from slide 28/34 expands to: “Е́сли бы он пришёл, то он бы говори́л о на́шей пое́здке.” (If he had come, he would have talked about our trip). I will explain the conditional mood in detail in future videos.
