Midland MXT275 GMRS Radio Review

Описание к видео Midland MXT275 GMRS Radio Review

My review of the Midland MXT275 15watt GMRS radio. Released in July 2018, this radio is a nice GMRS radio with a full function mic allowing you to hide the base unit which makes for a nice clean install. Let me know what you think about this radio and what scenarios do you or would you use it for?

In this video we test the Midland against a Baofeng BF-F8HP and an Icom 5100. Transmission from these radios is for testing purposes only. Perfect for overlanding, 4x4ing, camping, as a mobile base station, farm and ranch, and general use. A great replacement for CB radios...Could this be the perfect radio for a Tractor?

Note: This is my personal radio and I purchased it myself - this is not a paid promotion. I purchased this thru Amazon.

A feature or two I missed showing: The handheld mic has inputs for a headset and external mic - wondering if that would help with the low gain on the internal mic. Might have to explore that in a future video. There is also a cover for the USB port attached to the mic cable to keep dust out.

In 2017 the FCC allowed GPS and text messaging over GMRS - I would love to see a model that allowed those features as well - I did not include this in my wishlist for this radio, but those features are definitely something I'm interested in.

Overall, I like this radio and would recommend to anyone in the market for a solid GMRS radio that is also repeater channel capable. I think the design of the mic and base is the best out there. Thanks for checking out the video! Help me get to 1000 subscribers!

Errata: I had to re-upload this video due to mixing up VHF and UHF bands in a few places. If I missed a reference to VHF and UHF note that GMRS is a UHF frequency, not a VHF frequency. Didn't want to confuse anyone so I deleted and re-edited the video. 3rd times a charm :) Transmit test shows model number 265 instead of 275. This is a typo - should read 275.
