“ Krishna Nee Begane Baro “

Had an opportunity I have been longing for, this year, to finally perform at the ISKON temple for its “Janmashtami Festival”. If anyone knows me, knows that am a “Lord Krishna” devotee and to be able to offer my art as worship to him and his Vaishnavas meant everything to me.

Here, in this पदम्, we shed light on the motherly affection between Yashoda Mai and Lord Krishna. She keeps calling out to him so as to be with him and shower him with love and as usual Krishna tries to escape. She gradually makes him wear ornaments and along with it, describes how beautiful He looks while in it. She talks about his anklet, the swinging earrings, his sky blue complexion, the waist chain, tiny rings and the garland of Vaijayanti in his neck.
Yashoda Mai continues to tell us further that, when Lord Krishna consumed some mud, she was furious and asked him to open his mouth. When He opened it, She saw the entire universe and it’s elements in that little mouth. The rescuer, the ultimate redemptioner of human kind, The Lord Krishna…. Not really, he is my tiny Kanhaiya.
