📋 Ingredients:

1 cup toor dal (pigeon peas)

1-2 tbsp tamarind pulp

1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, drumsticks, beans, etc.)

2-3 tbsp sambar powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1-2 red chilies

1 tbsp mustard seeds

Curry leaves

Asafoetida (hing)

Salt to taste

2 tbsp oil


Steps to Prepare:

1. Cook the toor dal in a pressure cooker until soft and mash it well.


2. Boil the vegetables with a pinch of turmeric and salt.


3. Prepare the tamarind extract by soaking tamarind pulp in water.


4. In a pot, combine cooked dal, vegetables, and tamarind water. Add sambar powder and simmer for 10 minutes.


5. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, red chilies, curry leaves, and a pinch of hing. Pour this tempering over the sambar.


6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot!
