In this video I demonstrate two CRUCIAL tips to help prevent large 'light leaks' in your pictures. If you shoot a lot in bright, outdoor scenes, then this video is a MUST WATCH.

This video was inspired by my client Stan, who wondered what was causing this bizarre 'hombre' effect on his photos. The cause? The super bright Aussie sun! The solution? Better shielding!

Modern Polaroid film, as of this videos upload date of Feb, 2024, is still somewhat sensitive to very bright sunlight.

Here is my take on the subject, from a technicians point of view. Shot in three totally improvised takes over about 15 minutes.

In cloudy weather, or if shooting indoors, shielding is not very necessary. These tips only really apply to extreme sunlight, such as what we experience in the harsh Australian summer!
