2001 Toyota Corolla Taking Off and Fixing Outside Door Window Weatherstrips Part 2

Описание к видео 2001 Toyota Corolla Taking Off and Fixing Outside Door Window Weatherstrips Part 2

In Part 2 I go over how I sanded, primed and spray painted the outside door window weatherstrips flat black. I used a razor blade to cut away a lot of the peeling paint/rubber and then sanded the weatherstrips using 80 grit sand paper, then I used 120 grit sand paper after that. After sanding I then washed the weatherstrips with soap and water getting them ready to prime. I used Rustoleum Automotive Primer in dark gray. Follow the instructions on the can. I then waited a day and spray painted the weatherstrips with Rustoleum flat black protective enamel. After letting them dry for a couple days I reinstalled them. The back door weatherstrips just snap back into place. The front door weatherstrips snap back on and then you have to put that black plastic rivet back in place. Then you reinstall the side view mirrors with the hex nuts by using a socket wrench.

I was really happy how they turned out, they look 100% better than they did before as seen at the end of this video. Total cost was $8. $3 for the Rustoleum primer, $3 for the Rustoleum Flat Black spray paint, $1 for plastic tarp, $1 for 80 grit sand paper. Toyota wanted to charge $70 a piece for new weather strips, so $300 for all four.

Save money and do this yourself, well worth it. Hope this video helps, thanks for watching! =)
