To understand how this all started, you have to go back—way back.
The Hells Angels weren’t just some random motorcycle group. They were founded in 1948, right in San Bernardino, California. What began as a small post-war riding club quickly grew into a national—and later international—network. Over the decades, they built a reputation for loyalty, toughness, and violence. They wear their colors like armor, and once you're in, you're in for life.
Not far behind came the Vagos Motorcycle Club.
They showed up in the mid‑1960s—also born in San Bernardino. The Vagos grew fast, spreading across the West and deep into Nevada. Dressed in green with their signature Norse god mascot, they prided themselves on being just as fierce, just as committed—and in the eyes of many, just as dangerous.
It was only a matter of time before the two would clash.
Both clubs claim deep roots in the same territory. And in the outlaw biker world, territory is everything. It’s more than just cities or states—it’s about respect, control, and dominance. You’ll often see bikers wearing patches on the back of their jackets. The top and bottom rockers name their club and the region they claim. That bottom rocker? That’s where the problems usually start.
Because when two clubs claim the same place, it turns personal—fast.
That’s exactly what happened between the Hells Angels and the Vagos.
Their rivalry isn’t new. These two have a long, bitter history—fights at bars, run-ins at biker rallies, and sometimes even bloodshed in the streets. From California to Arizona and across Nevada, they’ve run into each other more times than either side would admit.
Each meeting carries the risk of violence. Even a stare-down in public can end with a trip to the hospital—or worse.
And in places like Las Vegas and Henderson, where both groups are active today, tensions don’t cool off. If anything, they’re always simmering—waiting for the next spark.
That spark came on April 23rd, inside a bar in San Bernardino.
One man was shot dead. Others were wounded.
The target? A patched member of the Hells Angels.
And when a club member gets taken out like that, there’s usually one response.
Retaliation.
