Stuart steam diorama with coal fired boiler conversion.

One of my on going steam engine projects.
The boiler is a modified for coal stuart Turner 501 boiler. Shown hear running on wood pellets which also burn rather well.

The engine's and bits were built by me years ago, but it has only recently been built into its engine house diorama, its an on going project.

The 501 solid fuel conversion is easy ish to do and steams very well on decent coal and can be brought up to steam with out needing an electric blower if a 2ft chimney is used. after that a blower can takeover to provide more draft. the exhaust from the S50 is use dto produce ample draft whils driving a stepper motor ac generator i made for the lighting, which is not finished yet.

still lots to do but its getting there.
