Biodata of the Speaker

Christhu Doss teaches modern and contemporary history at the Centre for Historical Studies, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

He is the author of two books:
1. M. Christhu Doss, “Colonialism and Communalism: Religion and Changing Identities in Modern India,” Routledge, London and New York, 2024.

2. “India After the 1857 Revolt: Decolonising the Mind,” Routledge, London and New York, 2022.

His latest research articles include the following:
1. “Pedagogy of the Secluded Women and Changing Femininities in Colonial India, 1830s-1930s,” Paedagogica Historica: International Journal of the History of Education.

2. “Gandhiji and RSS: The Cultural Grounding of Social Representations,” Indian Historical Review, Sage, 2023.
