Teardown of Surgical Robot Instrument

See inside a surgical robot instrument from Intuitive Surgical.

The robotic instruments shown in this video are for the Intuitive DaVinci S and Si systems. The latest systems are the Xi and the SP. The Xi has an identical EndoWrist mechanism, but different pulley configuration. The SP is all different since it has many more degrees of freedom per instrument, but is also cable driven like the rest of them.

DaVinci SP (single port):    • What is the da Vinci SP robotic system?  
I would love to get my hands on an SP instrument, since they're much more complex and interesting. They just launched the SP product recently, so there aren't any available on eBay.
