The critical area of climate change is burdened with various, sometimes contradictory, policies. Shifting responsibilities between numerous stakeholders often leads to delayed actions and outcomes.

Yet, the society itself faces many challenges on a daily basis and, therefore, climate change adaptation is very crucial in reducing negative impacts. Amongst numerous adaptation scenarios, sustainable architectural developments constitute a way through which local communities can contribute to building a modern and responsible society. This event will focus on such climate-friendly projects that take place in the city of The Hague.

Mr. Abel Malschaert works for Sweco – the architecture and engineering consultancy, from where he gets posted to advice and to manage projects at different municipalities. Currently, he is engaged with projects at the municipality of The Hague (Gemeente Den Haag) in a role to boost and improve climate adaptation with partners in the city towards sustainable architectural creations and developments.
