(Old WR) David Popovici 🇷🇴 46.86 // 100m Freestyle Final // European Champs 2022

17-year-old David Popovici has shocked the world yet again! He has smashed his own 100m Freestyle PB and set a new WORLD RECORD in the final of the European Championships 2022, lowering his previous record of 46.98 down to 46.86, the fastest time in history. Previous World Record was set at the Rome 2009 World Championships by Cesar Cielo, 46.91.

UPDATE: On 11th February 2024, China’s Pan Zhanle has lowered Popovici’s mark down to 46.80s (22.26/24.54).
